anyone else remember how sick this scene was from the first pokemon movie?

• the clean remix of the original theme
• bulbasaur going airborne and being the amazing cabbage he is
• squirtle throwing hands with a machamp
• pikachu defying logic and beating a ground type with thunderbolt

critics all say this movie was terrible and tbh??? can’t relate…i’ll die loving this movie sorry

i once saw a video essay that i can’t remember the title of but what totally made this movie was how the distributors knew how to market it.

they didn’t treat it as just an extended episode of the tv show they went all out with licensed music, that huge promotion with burger king, and just generally tons and tons of hype
